Tummy time...

Maya's been lifting her head pretty well since day one, but now she's all about wiggling for her little lady bug from Auntie Trina....

The Wait is finally over, and we're in love...

For a photographer I've been super bad at the whole photo thing with Maya, but more will come in the next few days, as we're all starting to feel more like ourselves.

So, for everyone wanting all the details - here they are: On Thursday, early morning I started feeling mild contractions, and they kept coming along all day on and off, so Jimmy and I took are last walk as just a couple... We got home and I took a shower and then the contractions started coming in at 5 minutes apart, for a minute long each, so the doctor said to head into her office, and bring the overnight bag "in case"...This was around 3:00pm As we drove over the Ashland we took pictures of all the rainbows and chatted. When we got to the doc's office she told us I was 3-4cm dilated and that we should head to the hospital ( she later told us that she didn't expect to get call to go to the hospital until 3am). Once at the hospital, around 5:30pm, we decided to do some walking to get things going... we saw Mom and Dad in the waiting room, chatted for a second, did two laps around the wing, and headed back to the room... I was then 6cm dilated, so I hopped in the shower, and boy did it get things moving. The contractions were coming one on top of each other. After a half hour in the shower we went back to the room, where I had already progressed to 8-9 cm, so I decided to get in the birth tub. Next thing I knew the doc was in the room asking if we wanted the water broken to have a baby. Once the water broke I started pushing, and continued for about 40 minutes, and out came our "little swimmer" Maya Helene at 9:21pm, weighing 6lbs 7oz. The next morning we were told we could go home, and after waiting for the massage the hospital offered, headed home to Selma. What a crazy experience this whole thing was. Although it was t he most difficult thing I've ever done, it was also super empowering now reflecting back on it. After a few short hours Jimmy and I were parents and more in love than we ever knew possible. She is such a sweet little perfect baby, and we've spent the last couple of days not doing much else by laying in bed staring at her in disbelief.

Today Maya had her first doctors visit, and the doctor told us, she's already back to her birth weight in only three days! Yeee for engorged boobies. She's also very alert, lifting her head and smiling alot (especially for Jimmy - already a daddy's girl). We feel so very blessed for not only this little bundle of love we have, but for all our friends and family sending all their love and support. Thanks everyone, and check back in a few days - I promise to post some photos!
